Stillroom is built with privacy at its core. We believe your thoughts, memories, and personal reflections should remain yours alone. This privacy policy explains how we honor that commitment.
Privacy by Design
No Account Required: Stillroom does not require you to create an account, register, or provide any personal information. Start journaling instantly without sharing your email, phone number, or any identifying details.
Local Storage: All your journal entries, photos, and voice notes are stored locally on your device. Your data lives on your iPhone or iPad, giving you complete control. Nothing is uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties without your explicit permission.
Device Security: You can protect your journal with Face ID or a secure passcode. When app lock is enabled, your entries remain accessible only to you.
Optional iCloud Sync: If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your journal entries are encrypted and synced across your Apple devices using your personal iCloud account. This sync is entirely optional and can be turned on or off at any time in the app settings. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Usage analytics or tracking data
- Advertising identifiers
- Your journal content or media files
- Device information beyond what's required for app functionality
In-App Purchases
Stillroom offers optional premium features through in-app purchases (Stillroom Premium). These purchases are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information. Apple handles all payment processing according to their privacy policy.
Third-Party Services
Stillroom does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not use cookies, trackers, or any form of data collection tools. The only third-party service involved is Apple's iCloud (if you choose to enable sync), which is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Your Rights
Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:
- Access: You can access all your data at any time within the app
- Export: Premium users can export their journal as a PDF
- Delete: You can delete individual entries or clear all data from the app settings
- Control Sync: Enable or disable iCloud sync at any time
Children's Privacy
Stillroom does not knowingly collect any information from children. Since we don't collect personal data from any users, the app is safe for users of all ages. However, parental guidance is recommended for younger users.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the app and on this page. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of Stillroom after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
